24/7 support of a 3-tier client server application and all its components (Tuxedo, Sybase, MQ, Print Server, VB GUI);
Sybase support including: DDL/DML changes; RDBMS and Replication Server setup, maintenance and performance management;
Promotion Management: assist in promotion of source code (VB, MF, COBOL, Unix Scripts, etc) using various promotion management tools;
Monitor & Performance - implementations and maintenance of monitor and performance scripts using UNIX KSH and Tivoli.
College/University education and 4 years work experience or equivalent.
Experience working as a Sybase DBA
Experience working with Unix Administration/Scripting
Experience supporting 24/7 applications
Mastery level experience doing performance tuning of large, complex databases
Mastery level experience doing performance tuning of large, complex databases
Strong troubleshooting, debugging skills
