The job involves analyzing material specifications, test certificates, technical data sheets etc. and advising concerned on all materials and buyout items currently used or for future’s use, with regard to specifications’ accuracy, compatibility, equivalence and conformance to the latest International Standards/ Codes and company’s standards. Assist in product development and enhancement works, preparing product specifications, developing standard detail drawings and procedures, carrying out testing and evaluation of product samples; preparing study/ research reports, presentations etc.

| Profile | Degree in Civil/ Mechanical Engineering. Diploma holders with additional 6 years experience can also be considered. Desirable to have certificate in Materials Specification & Purchasing of raw materials and finished products for steel building industry. Knowledge of computer aided design/ drafting. Hands on experience in applications of AutoCAD and MS Office software. English (Good at written and spoken English). Minimum 2 Years as materials specialist/ specification engineer/ purchaser in steel building industry, preferably in Pre-Engineered Buildings. 2 years in Steel Buildings Design/ Detailing and overall 6 years in steel building industry. Experience in Product Development for a PEB or other steel building industry will be advantageous. Self motivated with a sense of planning and organization, good communication skills and personnel handling abilities. Resourceful and self initiator. Commitment to quality standards. Leadership and managerial skills. Applied knowledge in the use of various international materials specifications (ASTM, DIN, BS, EN, JIS etc.) is essential. |
